Privacy policy
Last updated October 7, 2026
This policy explains how Romo Remi, from Lazau Labs, handles information when you play, connect with other players, use joining links, share results, report concerns or contact support.
Playing and saving
Romo Remi does not require an account. Your player name, character, preferences and saved games are stored on your device. Local game data may include table messages, scores and information needed to reconnect. Device backups may retain app data according to your Apple settings.
Age range and access
Romo Remi is intended for players 9 and older. The App Store age rating is calculated separately by Apple and may be higher. On supported devices, the app uses Apple’s Declared Age Range service with thresholds at 9, 13 and 18, not a date of birth or Apple Account credentials. Apple controls sharing and any required family restrictions. Age-range decisions stay on your device and are not sent to Lazau Labs, other players or advertising providers.
Find information and request an Apple age check in Settings → Help & safety → Age sharing → Check age with Apple. Startup checks and system prompts can depend on Apple’s account, region and device eligibility. Known under-9 and restricted results do not unlock full play. If sharing cannot be completed, eligible users can choose isolated offline play on that device. Older systems use a local age-range declaration and keep ads disabled. The app remembers onboarding completion rather than storing the Apple-shared age range as permanent permission.
Nearby multiplayer and shared screens
Romo Remi uses Apple Multipeer Connectivity to connect nearby devices. Player names, characters, public formations, scores and table messages are exchanged with participants. Local connection identifiers help devices recognize and reconnect to a table.
The host maintains the complete game state to deal tiles and validate moves. Guests receive their own rack and public table information. A replacement host needs the game state to continue hosting. Shared displays show public table information rather than private racks or undealt tiles.
Online play and Game Center
Online play uses Apple Game Center for sign-in, friends, invitations and connecting players. Apple handles Game Center account information under its own policies. Connected table participants exchange the names, characters and public game information needed to play. The host validates moves and maintains complete game state; each guest receives only their own private rack and public table information. Lazau Labs does not operate a central gameplay account or game-state server.
Joining links and downloads
Joining QR codes can open our website. App-generated links place the room identifier and code after the # character in the address. Browsers normally do not send that part in the page request, but scripts on the page can read it. Our joining page uses it to display the room code and open the app; our joining script does not upload those invitation details or save them in browser storage.
Treat the entire invitation as private. Anyone receiving it can request admission; the host must approve unfamiliar devices. The page can link to Apple’s TestFlight beta or App Store. Apple handles downloads under its own terms and privacy policy. Installing the app does not automatically join a table: return to the invitation or scan again.
Permissions
Local Network permission enables discovery and communication with the table. Camera permission is used only to scan joining QR codes; Romo Remi does not store or send camera images. You can join by entering a code without using the camera. Manage permissions in your device’s Settings.
Sharing results
Sharing is optional and initiated by you. A result image can include player names, characters, scores, final public formations and the closing tile when applicable. It excludes private racks, undealt tiles, room codes, invitations and chat.
The sharing app or service you choose handles the content under its own policies. People receiving an image may keep or forward it.
Player safety and blocking
On versions with Player safety controls, blocking saves the selected device’s local connection identifier and display name on your phone until you unblock it or remove app data. Block records are not uploaded to a central ban list or synchronized to other hosts. A changed installation identity can request admission again, so only approve people you recognize.
When a host removes a player, that player’s seat credential is revoked and a bot can continue the same hand and score. A guest who blocks someone leaves the table; that phone refuses a table roster containing the blocked identity. Blocks do not erase information other players have already received.
Reports and support
If you email support@lazaulabs.com, we receive your email address and the information you include in your message and attachments. We use it to respond to requests, investigate problems and handle abuse concerns. Support correspondence is handled in our Google Workspace mailbox.
The in-app reporting feature prepares a draft containing the selected player’s display name, your chosen reason and any details you enter. Nothing is submitted automatically. Opening, copying or saving a draft does not send a report. If you send or share it, the email or sharing service handles that content under its own policies. The app does not automatically attach room codes, joining credentials, private tiles or logs.
We delete support emails, abuse reports and their attachments within 90 days after the case is closed. We retain unresolved cases while handling them and may retain information longer where legally required. You can request earlier deletion by emailing support@lazaulabs.com. Deletion of our mailbox copy does not remove copies held by you, recipients or other services; service-provider backups and deletion processing follow their own terms.
Please avoid sending information that is not needed to explain the issue. We do not have a central gameplay account system and cannot impose a verified-person, account-wide ban.
Optional rewarded ads
Version 2.0 includes Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Google’s User Messaging Platform, but public advertising and reward offers are disabled. This release does not start the advertising SDK or request ads through the disabled ad flows. Activating public ads or rewards requires a later app update and completion of advertising readiness and privacy checks.
When enabled in a future release, an eligible adult may choose to watch an ad to unlock a cosmetic table theme on that device; a match-end ad may also be shown. Ads never change scores, tiles or turns. Ads require an adult age range confirmed through Apple and applicable consent or privacy choices. Children, teens and players without a confirmed adult range receive no ads. Permission to play does not establish adulthood.
The prepared configuration requests non-personalized, general-rated ads, disables publisher first-party identifiers, and does not request Apple tracking authorization. These settings do not mean an active advertising SDK collects no information. Google may process IP addresses (including approximate location inferred from them), app or device identifiers, ad views and interactions, product interactions, crash logs and performance information for advertising, measurement, analytics, diagnostics and service operation. Data may be shared with Google’s advertising partners according to consent choices and provider policies. Romo Remi does not pass player names, table codes, private racks, scores, messages or Apple age ranges to advertising providers.
In versions with enabled advertising, consent messages and Ad privacy choices are provided where applicable. Theme unlocks are stored locally rather than as account entitlements. Development builds may use Google test ads, which generate no revenue.
See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Mobile Ads data disclosures for provider details. Apple may process App Store, Game Center, diagnostic or TestFlight information under its own policies and your settings.
This website
Our support and joining pages have no account sign-in, advertising, contact form or analytics added by Lazau Labs. They are hosted through Sites on Cloudflare infrastructure. Visiting sends technical information, such as your IP address and browser details, to the hosting providers to deliver and protect the service. Hosting providers may run security scripts and handle technical records under their service policies; our support-email deletion schedule does not control their records.
Following an email link opens an email app when available. Your message is sent only when you choose to send it.
Your choices and deletion
Use a nickname rather than personal information. You can change your player name and character, decline camera access, choose not to share results, mute reactions, and manage supported block controls in the app. Leaving a table stops your participation, but other players may retain information or shared images already received.
Deleting the app removes its local data from that device; offloading it does not. Deletion does not remove backups, copies on other devices or shared images. Contact support@lazaulabs.com to request deletion of support correspondence or ask about information you sent us. We may need enough information to identify the correspondence and confirm the request is yours. Requests about data held independently by Apple or another provider should also be directed to that provider.
